Community Councillor Elections

Community Councils are the level of local government closest to where people live. Elections are normally for a period of 5 years. There are 10 members of the council and meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, apart from August. They generally last for about two hours from 7.30pm. If you would like to know more, there is guidance for candidates on the website of One Voice Wales, the representative body of community councils in wales: http://www.onevoicewales.org.uk/OVWWeb/Default.aspx. There is also guidance on procedures on the Electoral Commission website: http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/, or contact Chris Burdett, the clerk to the council on clerk.lisvanecc@btinternet .com or telephone 02921 328027.
