  • Coffee Morning every Wednesday in the Old School between 10.00am and
    1.00pm.  Please note that the proceeds from this event are generally for the Old School development with occasional advertised charity events.
  • Friday Night Youth Club (FNYC) in the Old School between 7pm and 8.30pm for young persons between 11 and 16 yrs. Contact Ali on 0786 6587316 for more information.


The main events for June are for the Lisvane Festival Programme. This is an annual celebration of village activities which has something for everyone. The Festival Programme has been distributed with the May Lisvane Link magazine and there are copies in the Cabin Library and at the Wednesday Coffee Mornings at the Old School.

The following is a summary of the activities:

Saturday 8th; Rainbow League Cricket Tournament, Lisvane Cricket Club, St Mellons. 10am start. Details at lccjuniors@btinternet.com.

Saturday 8th; Festival Family Disco, organised by Treetops, Lisvane Memorial Hall, 4-6pm, £5 (includes hotdog).

Sunday 9th; Fun Run and BBQ - Husband Brothers Cup sponsored by Philip Husband. 2 mile fun run/walk. Start and finish at the Tennis Club. Start at 12 noon; register from 11.30 onwards. Adults £1.50, children £1. Followed by BBQ prepare by Lisvane Tennis Club.

Monday 10th; An Ace Evening of Duplicate Bridge. Lisvane Memorial Hall, 7pm. £15 per competing pair including a glass of wine/soft drink and nibbles. Tickets from Margaret Russel on 2075 4010, or any club member.

Tuesday 11th; Pub Quiz and Curry at the Griffin. 7pm: curry, 8.15: quiz start. £10 per person including curry. Teams of up to eight. Tickets from Julie George on 2074 7527.

Thursday 13th; Village Lunch: 12.30 pm for 1 pm in the Memorial Hall. Tickets: £10 per head from Julie George on 2074 7527 or Pat Harding on 2076 2816.

Thursday 13th; Festival Walk 2019 organised by the Graig Protection Society. Starts in the Ty Mawr car park at 7 pm and will be about 3.5 miles.

Friday 14th; Drama Evening: "Half In, Half Out", Lisvane Memorial Hall, 7.30 pm for 8 pm. Tickets £8 from Angela Goddard on 2075 6660 or Ruth Toye on 2075 3943.

Saturday 15th; Lisvane Festival Fete on the Heol y Delyn Playing Field. Starts 2pm with a full programme of events, displays and performances. See booklet for full details.

Saturday 15th; Festival Art Show in the Memorial Hall, from 10am until 4pm.

Sunday 16th; Café Church 10.30 am until 11.30 am.

Sunday 16th; Panthers Fun Day, Lisvane Memorial Hall and Heol y Delyn Playing Field, 12 noon until 5 pm. 

Monday 17th; Golf Day Llanishen Golf Club, 12 noon. Details from John Rees 2075 3678.

Tuesday 18th; WI Afternoon Tea, Lisvane Memorial Hall, 2 pm to 4 pm. Tickets £6 from Bev Gambles, beverly_gambles@hotmail.com.

Wednesday 19th; Teddy Bears' Picnic on the Heol y Delyn Playing Field from 1 pm to 3 pm. £3 per child, details from Pat Harding on 2076 2816.

Wednesday 19th; The Llysfaen Singers present "A Million Dreams" at the Memorial Hall, doors open at 7.30 pm fp 8 PM. Tickets £8 from Anne McGufin on 07818 833825.

Thursday 20th; Tennis Club Open Evening, 7 pm until 9 pm, Open to all.

Friday 21st; Festival Film Night, "Bohemian Rhapsody" (12A), 6.30 pm for 7 pm. Tickets £5.

Sunday 23rd; Party in the Park from 12.30 pm. Free event featuring live bands. Bring your own food, drinks, picnic blankets, chairs etc. and be entertained by First Fix and Amaigin the Gael.

11th, 18th & 25th; Lisvane Cricket Club Ladies Training, 6.30 pm.

14th; Friday Night Youth Club and BBQ in the Old School. 

23rd; Friends of Parc Cefn-onn workday, meet in the car park for 1.45 pm.

26th; Fifty-Plus Club. Meet in the Old School Hall 2 pm.

30th; Friends of Coed y Felin workday. Meet at the Heol Cefn-onn entrance at 2pm.
